ABOUT DOROTHY KNIGHT

CAPACITY COACH & FOUNDER OF THE EMBODIMENT ARC™

I DIDN'T FIND MYSELF. I CAME HOME TO MYSELF.

I was born into survival.

My parents escaped communist Poland for a better life. My mother was pregnant with me, carrying the fear, uncertainty and upheaval of leaving everything she knew behind. I entered the world inside a story that had already begun long before I had words for it. Stay safe. Stay alert. Be careful. Don't draw attention. Don't take unnecessary risks.

The generations before me knew what it meant to be seen by the wrong people. Somewhere along the way, that awareness became part of the architecture I inherited.

I learned early that being seen wasn't safe.

I also grew up carrying deep mother, father and child wounds. The guilt around boundaries. The fear of disapproval. The longing for validation. The instinct to adapt myself to what other people needed. The quiet belief that love, belonging and safety could disappear if I got it wrong.

I learned to read the room. I learned to be good, capable and accommodating. I learned to anticipate what people needed from me and become that person.

I became very good at adapting to everyone around me while losing touch with myself.

That pattern followed me into almost every area of my life.

I became a great escape artist.

Until eventually, I could no longer outrun what my body already knew.

I HID IN MY BODY.

My relationship with visibility started with my body.

As a teenager, I went from being overweight toward almost anorexia. I learned to change myself to feel safer being seen. I learned to look at my body through the eyes of other people before I learned how to experience it as my own.

That pattern followed me into adulthood.

I became drawn to emotionally unavailable men while safe connection often felt strangely flat. Distance activated me. Uncertainty activated me. Reaching, proving, earning and waiting felt familiar.

My nervous system had learned that chaos was chemistry.

So I chased it.

I knew how to love deeply. I knew how to give. I knew how to understand, accommodate, make space and hold someone else's experience. I hadn't learned how to remain connected to myself while doing all of it.
When I wanted to be chosen, I moved further away from myself trying to secure it.

That pattern eventually played out in my relationships in ways that forced me to confront the cost of abandoning myself. There were affairs. There was secrecy. There was longing. There was the constant pull toward something outside myself.

The deeper wound was underneath all of it.

I was looking outside myself for permission to feel wanted, seen, chosen and enough.

I was searching for home in other people while quietly leaving myself.

I LEARNED TO MAKE MYSELF SMALL.

I spent more than a decade in the corporate world, and the same architecture kept revealing itself there. I sabotaged myself when I hated what I was doing and knew somewhere underneath it all that my life wasn’t aligned with my soul. I also found myself in environments where authority figures reinforced the story I’d been carrying for years.

“You’ll never make it in this industry.”

I had bosses who undermined me.

I kept looking outside myself for permission to believe I was good enough.

I was also being asked to be visible, perform at a high level and hold increasing levels of responsibility, without having the internal capacity to fully hold what that visibility demanded of me. I could perform. I could deliver. I could keep going. But I couldn’t sustainably hold it all. I was carrying more visibility, responsibility and pressure than my nervous system had the capacity to hold.

Eventually, my body said enough.  I burned out.

The strategy was still survival. Keep the job. Keep performing. Stay safe. But I was also self-sabotaging from within, finding myself in places that were increasingly out of alignment with my truth, my gifts, my skills and my capacity as a leader.

I knew how to communicate. I knew how to say what needed to be said. I knew how to present, write and perform at a high level. But there was a difference between communicating what needed to be heard and speaking from what was true for me.

I had learned how to be polished, precise and appropriate. I hadn’t yet learned how to stay anchored in myself while letting my own truth lead.

So I adapted. Again. And again. Until eventually, I couldn’t ignore the part of me that knew there was another way to live.

I left.

I built my own business. For the first time, I was creating something that felt completely mine.

And the old patterns came with me.

I BUILT A BUSINESS AND STILL PLAYED SMALL.

For seven years, I built Dorothy Knight Reiki and True Root Healing. I was finally doing work that felt deeply aligned with me. I was facilitating transformation, holding space for people and creating something that mattered.

Alignment didn't erase the patterns I'd spent a lifetime building.

I would freeze when the camera came on. I'd know exactly what I wanted to say and still feel my body contract when it was time to let myself be seen.

I was generous with my time to the point of depletion. I stretched payment plans. I offered discounts. I gave away work. I accommodated. I made myself available because being needed felt safe and giving felt easier than receiving.

I was overgiving in my business the same way I'd been overgiving in my relationships.

I could see the pattern.

I understood the pattern.
I still couldn't always stop the pattern.

Because awareness alone couldn't change what my nervous system had learned to do.

I needed capacity.

THEN CAME THE TOWER MOMENT.

Eventually, the structure couldn't hold anymore.

My identity shifted. My relationships shifted. My work shifted. My understanding of myself shifted. The ways I'd kept everything together for so long stopped working, and my nervous system reached a point where it couldn't keep carrying the version of me that had carried everything else.

The tower came down.

And underneath it was the foundation.

Or what was missing from it.

The excavation began.

I had to go back into the places I'd spent years trying to transcend. The places where I'd abandoned myself. Where I'd dimmed my light, stayed small, overridden my body, and made myself easier to love. Where I'd confused being chosen with being worthy. Where I'd mistaken chasing for love and overgiving for generosity. Where I'd made myself responsible for everyone else's comfort while quietly abandoning my own.

I had to go back for the parts of myself I'd abandoned along the way.

This healing wasn't aesthetically pleasing. It was messy, raw, and real.

It looked like boundaries. It looked like saying no and letting people be disappointed. It looked like sitting in discomfort without rushing to fix it, explain it, soften it, or make everyone else okay. It looked like stopping. It looked like listening to my body when my mind wanted to keep going.

And slowly, the question stopped being How do I keep everything together?

It became How do I stay with myself?

Because that was the foundation I had been missing all along.

It looked like choosing myself when nobody else was choosing for me.

I RECLAIMED MY CORE SIGNAL™

I reclaimed my energy. My time. My boundaries. My body. My voice. My choices. My money. My visibility.

My truth.

More than anything, I reclaimed my relationship with myself.

I began noticing the moments when my body wanted to reach, chase, explain, fix, or perform. Instead of automatically following the old response, I started staying with the discomfort. I stayed with uncertainty. I stayed when I wanted to run. I stayed when I wanted someone else to reassure me. I stayed when being seen felt vulnerable. I stayed when receiving felt uncomfortable.

I learned how to stay with myself.

And staying changed everything.

I stopped outsourcing my knowing. I stopped asking other people to confirm what my body already knew. I stopped abandoning myself to maintain connection. I stopped negotiating with the truth of what I felt just because honoring it might disappoint someone else.

I stopped chasing. I started choosing.

My Core Signal™ was never missing. It was buried beneath conditioning, fear, adaptation, and years of becoming who everyone else needed me to be.

I didn't need to find myself. I needed to hear myself again.

And then I needed to trust what I heard.

I needed to build the capacity to live from it.

I CAME HOME TO MY BODY.

For years, I'd known how to work on my body. Change it. Discipline it. Improve it. Make it more desirable. I was so cruel to my body and robbed myself of nourishment and pleasure.

That began to change when I stopped asking my body to become something and started listening to what it was telling me.

I began learning what it meant to receive. A compliment. A loving gaze. Appreciation. Attention. Support.

The things I'd spent so much of my life longing for could arrive and my first instinct could still be to move away from them.

I'd feel the urge to make a joke, change the subject, give something back or simply get up and leave.

And instead, I stayed.

I learned that receiving is a capacity.

So is being seen.

So is intimacy.

So is allowing someone to meet you without immediately becoming responsible for what they need from you.

I learned how to let myself be met.

MONEY SHOWED ME THE SAME PATTERN.

Scarcity had been part of my story long before I ever had a business.

When it came time to truly value my work, another layer of the same pattern appeared. I could intellectually understand my value while my nervous system still whispered the old questions. What if they don't choose me? What if they leave? What if I'm asking for too much? Should I give more? Should I make it easier? Should I prove my worth?

I had to learn that pricing my work honestly wasn't greed. It was self-trust. It meant allowing my work to have value without negotiating against myself before anyone else even had the chance to.

I had to stop making myself smaller to make other people comfortable. I had to let my work be valuable without constantly proving it through what I gave away. I had to stop confusing overgiving with generosity and depletion with devotion.

I knew my worth. I was learning how to hold it.

That became another doorway into capacity.

Because abundance isn't simply what you desire or what you're willing to receive.

Abundance is what you can actually receive and hold without abandoning yourself in the process.

You will keep longing to be chosen until you remember who you are.

This became one of the deepest truths of my own journey.

Don't go looking for yourself.

Go back.

Go back to the places where you abandoned yourself. Go back to the places where you dimmed your light, stayed small, silenced your voice, ignored your knowing or chose belonging over truth.

That's where the reclamation happens.

That's where you begin hearing your Core Signal™ again.

Your truth was never missing.

You were learning how to hear it underneath everything you had been conditioned to become.

Embodiment is the moment you choose yourself.

Then you choose yourself again.

And again.

Until the choice becomes a way of living.

Until your boundaries feel like self respect.

Until visibility feels like expression.

Until receiving feels safe enough to stay.

Until your body becomes home.

I live here now.

YOUR UNSHAKEABLE BASELINE

THAT’S WHY I CREATED THE EMBODIMENT ARC™

I didn't create The Embodiment Arc™ because I wanted another framework for personal transformation.

I built it because I needed a way to make transformation livable.

After more than 15 years of studying, facilitating and working across somatic and embodiment frameworks, I kept seeing the same gap in the people I worked with. Eventually, I recognized it in myself too.

People can be incredibly self aware. They can understand their conditioning, name their wounds, recognize their patterns and speak fluently about nervous system regulation. They can know exactly why they do what they do and still find themselves doing it when life gets real.

A relationship activates them.

Someone pulls away.

A boundary needs to be set.

They become visible.

They raise their prices.

They have to receive.

They are asked to hold more.

The old pattern appears.

Knowing yourself differently doesn't mean your nervous system knows how to live differently yet.

That became foundational to my work.

The Embodiment Arc™ moves through Healing, Integration and Embodiment, supported by the underlying progression of Awareness, Repatterning and Capacity.

Healing gives us the courage to excavate what shaped us. Integration gives us the practice of responding differently. Embodiment gives us the capacity to hold that new way of being in our bodies, our relationships, our leadership, our visibility, our work and our lives.

The work is learning how to live as who you already are.

GROUNDED IN TRUTH. BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE.

The Embodiment Arc™ was forged through study, practice, facilitation, observation, and lived experience.

I've spent more than 15 years immersed in somatic and embodiment frameworks, human behavior, energetic and relational dynamics, trauma, epigenetics, and generational patterns. I've studied these systems, facilitated them, questioned them, refined them, and brought them into the reality of everyday life.

But the deepest learning happened when I had to use what I knew.

When relationships activated me. When boundaries challenged me. When visibility scared me. When receiving felt uncomfortable. When scarcity asked me to shrink. When my body told me to stop. When life demanded more capacity than I'd ever held before.

That's where knowledge became lived wisdom.

That's why I don't teach embodiment as theory.  I walk it. I'm still living it. I'm still stretching. I'm still meeting the places where my capacity asks to grow.

I don't need to be finished to embody the work.

I am choosing myself to stay.

STOP CHASING THE FIX. BUILD THE BASELINE.

I've spent enough of my life chasing.

Chasing answers. Chasing approval. Chasing connection. Chasing the next breakthrough. Chasing the next version of myself. Chasing the feeling that if I just understood enough, healed enough, gave enough, or became enough, I'd finally arrive.

I'm done chasing.

I know where it takes you. Away from yourself. Into the endless search for something outside of you that will finally make you feel whole, safe, chosen, certain, or enough.

The work now is learning to stay. To listen. To choose. To trust what you know. To build a baseline strong enough to hold the life you're asking for, without abandoning yourself to create it.

Your capacity determines how much of your truth you can actually live.

You don't need another place to escape yourself.

You need a place to come home.

That's what The Embodiment Arc™ is.

And this journey is deeply personal because it isn't only mine. I've lived these patterns. I've dismantled them. I've rebuilt from the foundation. And I'm still living the work, stretching my own capacity and choosing myself in the places where it asks more of me.

It's ours.

I’m here to walk it with you.

I’M ALL IN.

I CHOOSE MY TRUTH.

I AM.

THE PATH THAT IGNITED THE ARC

10+ YEARS IN CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS & RISK MANAGEMENT

Before I left corporate to build my own business, I spent 10+ years working across corporate communications and risk management, in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where constant change was the norm and the stakes were often high.

I experienced the intensity of high-visibility work, complex organizations, leadership environments and the constant pressure to perform, learning what it meant to hold responsibility while navigating uncertainty, change and competing demands.

I also spent time as a writer for business publications, working within the pace and precision of a professional media environment and learning to communicate complex ideas in ways people could understand.

I learned how to operate at a high level.

I learned what it meant to perform, to deliver, to keep moving and to hold it all together, even when my nervous system was overloaded by how much I was carrying and the level of capacity I was continually being asked to hold.

Eventually, I left corporate to build my own business.

What I didn’t know then was how much of what I had lived and learned in those environments would eventually ignite the work I was called to do.

15+ YEARS OF SOMATIC & EMBODIMENT WORK

For more than 15 years, I’ve devoted my work to understanding what it means to truly come home to ourselves. My mission is simple: to bring people home to the Core Truth of their being.

I believe we’re all walking each other home. I walk beside you as a guide, holding the space for you to reconnect with the truth that’s always lived within you.

My journey has taken me through years of study, practice and facilitation across somatic and embodiment frameworks, deepening my understanding of healing, nervous system capacity, human behaviour, consciousness and what it takes to live from our truth, step into empowered leadership and create lasting impact.

Your Core Signal™ is what you’re here to bring into the world. Your mission lives in your transmission.

This is the work we’re here to do.

YOGA TEACHER, YTT 200

My journey into healing work began with yoga and the profound recognition of the body, mind and spirit connection. What began as a practice of movement and presence became a deeper exploration of what it means to truly inhabit the body and listen to its wisdom. Over time, my understanding of this connection has evolved into what I now experience as the relationship between body, spirit and mind.

Yoga opened many doors for me. It became a pathway into connecting with people holistically and opened me to exploring the many modalities and practices that would eventually shape my work. I continue to honor my own practice daily, carrying the principles of yoga into the foundation of how I live, work and understand embodiment today.

REIKI MASTER TEACHER & PRACTITIONER

I have 7+ years of practice in the Usui method of Reiki, working deeply with energy, energetic awareness, grounding, coherence and the body’s own wisdom. I have worked with thousands of clients and taught, mentored and certified students, sharing Reiki as both a healing practice and a pathway into deeper self awareness.

As my own practice deepened, so did my understanding of healing. I began to see more clearly the intricate relationship between the body, energy, nervous system, lived experience and the larger ecosystems we exist within. My work naturally began to expand beyond Reiki alone.

Toward the later years of my practice, this evolution gave rise to the True Root Healing Method™, a methodology born from my growing understanding of these interconnected systems and my desire to work with healing at its root.

OHANA GENERATIONAL HEALER

My work with generational healing opened another layer of understanding for me. I explored the ways trauma, inherited patterns and epigenetic influences can shape our experience of safety, identity, relationships and capacity, and how much of what we carry can exist beyond our individual story.

CREATOR OF TRAUMA RX™: YOUR EPIGENETICS EXPERIENCE

Creator and facilitator of Trauma Rx™: Your Epigenetics Experience, a transformational experience born from my growing understanding of trauma, epigenetics and inherited patterns. Through this work, I supported hundreds of clients in exploring what they carried, where it came from and what became possible when they began meeting it differently. The experience was also facilitated for two consecutive years at the Toronto Yoga Conference & Show.

SPEAKER, WORKSHOP FACILITATOR & PUBLISHED AUTHOR

For more than 10 years, I have shared this work through speaking, teaching, workshops, transformational experiences and writing, bringing these teachings into spaces around the world. Through this work, I have had the privilege of touching lives globally, creating spaces for people to question what they have been taught, reconnect with themselves and experience transformation from the inside out.

CREATOR OF THE EMBODIMENT ARC™

The Embodiment Arc™ is the body of work I was always moving toward. It was born from nervous system burnout, years of overfunctioning and the perpetual self abandonment that came from living so far outside of myself.

It is the culmination of more than 15 years of study, practice, facilitation, questioning and lived experience. Everything I learned about healing, the body, energy, nervous system capacity, relationships, identity and human behavior began to converge into one deeper understanding:

Knowing who you are is only the beginning. Coming home to your Core Signal™ is the work.

Your Core Signal™ is your inner transmission.

Your personal Sun.

The light you’re here to bring into the world

The Embodiment Arc™ is my framework for that work. It moves through Healing, Integration and Embodiment, supported by Awareness, Repatterning and Capacity, creating a pathway for transformation to move beyond intellectual understanding and become something you can actually live, hold and embody.
